The name means “Girls in Needles” and these are pine needles, rather than “talons aiguilles” (stiletto heels).
For Serge Lutens, this is an uncharacteristic fragrance based on pine. The pine comes across fairly straight forward, almost minimalist. The powerful resinous smell of pine is blended with vetiver and a wisp of gunpowder incense. Fruity fir balsam and the trademark Lutens candied fruit notes sweeten the blend without playing down its dark green radiance.
Fille en Aiguilles is a decidedly atmospheric scent, conjuring the idea of Christmas or an incense soaked temple, a New Mexican pine forest, or whatever your imagination brings.
